Honestly no idea what is going on at this point, but with a total lack of expectations Tim and Phil launched into what would become the longest Bizcast to date. Clocking in at over four hours, this jam session was truly the most epic improvised recording we have ever made. There's a bit of everything, so much so its difficult to sum up in a description, but give it a chance and we think you'll find something you enjoy. The Bizcast Volume Twenty-Three 2019-06-29
We decided to try to see if we could do The Bizcast again after so many years. And as this roughly hour long episode will prove, it looks like we still can do it. We're pretty rusty, so please forgive some clunkers here and there, but we're glad to say that everything worked like we hoped. A lot of new technology was tested for this Return of The Biz and we have so many other things that we didn't get to try or figure out. Nonetheless, we hope you will enjoy this hour of improvised music.
This is our first Bizcast with drummer Ben. E. King. All recordings up until Volume Twenty-One have been solely Tim and Phil on computers and instruments. Some guests have been featured in previous episodes, but this is the very first Bizcast featuring our powerhouse full-time drummer, Ben. E. King.
Ben used to host the Magic Monday Showcase at Cervantes' The Other Side. Now, he has moved up to the Sacred Sunday Showcase, but this recording is from November 8th of 2010. The Biz jammed many times at The Other Side with Ben on Monday nights, but this is one of the final recordings from those many jams.
All the music on this recording is completely improvised.
We are very excited to present to you Volume Nineteen of The Bizcast featuring a massive amount of live instrumentation. The sampling and beat machines have taken a back seat to the musicianship and improvisation of midi keyboards and multiple synths and bass sounds. You will hear Tim and Phil both playing ample amounts of the sounds that you hear on this Bizcast. We are finding more and more that each time we subdue to our desire to just play music that this form of performance is our forte. We have always been players of music and that passion is rising to the surface of the Biz artform. What you hear in this episode of the podcast is another live performance from The Gypsy House in Denver, CO although this time our friend JP aka The Peacock Revolution was not able to perform with us. We definitely missed the vibe that JP creates but his absense also gave us a chance to expand our set up and try out a few things we haven't done before. We will be looking forward to his return in two weeks when we will also join forces with Moe of Denver local band, Gravity. We hope you enjoy and look forward to the Best of the Bizcast Vol. 2 which will soon be in the works after only one more Bizcast!
This is the edited version of our live stream from Friday Night. Bizcast Volume Twelve was not as well attended as last week, so we may try to start moving the weekly stream to Wednesday or Thursday. The visuals by Leigh this week were very excellent as we began to incorporate more of our logo and official artwork from our upcoming release Ancient Future.
Volume Ten was a hit! Thursday night we set up the rig much earlier than last time and managed to make this episode exactly an hour. Look for video highlights to be released later this weekend on YouTube. The vibe was very different than the previous times, but we feel it was much tighter and seemed to wander into many different styles over the evening. We changed times in order to make plans on Friday night. We were all in attendance of first Elm and Oak party in Denver, CO and it was off the hook. Very inspiring. The time for the next Bizcast is still up in the air, so stay tuned and we will post an announcement on Facebook, etc.
This Bizcast marks a major turning point for the way we will be releasing our future episodes. Tim, Leigh, and I all had a great success doing a live stream of our music and videos last night. In case you missed it you can find it in the previous post on our site. After this week's release, you can tune in live on Friday nights with us as we make our tunes and videos on the spot and broadcast it to the world. After the live broadcast we will release the recordings to you on the following Saturday in podcast style. This week's podcast was not broadcast live, and it will be the last podcast that is composed previous to its release. Enjoy and don't forget to check out the new Fresh Hats Tight Beats release, The ReIntroduction EP at http://www.freshhatstightbeats.com
The Biz is expanding our operations! Firstly with our brand spanking new website design courtesy of yours truly, P Buck. Secondly, we are pumped about collaborating on many new tracks with our fellow Winslows in the next week. As the new year draws near, many of our friends are arriving in Denver to ring in 2010. Matt Nigro has already arrived and he brought his fresh out from under the christmas tree M-Audio Axiom 25 Midi Controller. Its seems as though Mr. Hat is a quick learner for the beat making, and tonight we have an appointment with a three-way MIDI sync. Its going to be interesting to say the least.
Tomorrow our friends, John D, Z Matt, and Dave B will be touching down at the Denver International airport and from there, well, its on! We are anticipating lots of musical collaborations as both John and Dave are bringing their respecting horns, not to mention Z Matt's excellent beat making abilities will be in the house. By this weekend we intend to release a new bizcast with many guest stars. Also we will be working on new tracks from Fresh Hats Tight Beats. And with so many musicians in the place, I'm sure many things will crop up that we never expected.
Happy new years to you and yours! See you in 2010 P Buck
VJ Bernstafunk brings you the first video feed from The Biz. We are so excited to bring you live video produced on the eve of the release of Bizcast Volume Four. Please absorb and share.
The Biz celebrates one month of Podcasts with this release. We are very excited to bring you this mix as our sound is beginning to find focus. Volume Four is shorter than our last few episodes, but we believe that this 45 minutes is more concentrated with goodness than our longer mixes. This has been an exciting week as Tim has been competing to win a feature artist spot on the Windows Playlist 7 campaign.
